At our Trustee Board meeting this evening, the difficult decision was made that this year’s Firework Spectacular will not be going ahead.

During planning we’ve faced a number of challenges – rising costs, unexpected new expenses, and a shortage of volunteers. Fundraising through the event has also declined in recent years, making it harder to absorb these additional costs. Taken together, it means we are unable to deliver the event safely this year.

We know this will be disappointing news. The display has become a highlight of Elton’s calendar, and we’ve worked hard behind the scenes to try and keep it running. Sadly, despite our best efforts, it just isn’t possible this time.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the event over the last 13 years – whether by volunteering, sponsoring, or simply coming along on the night. Your support has meant the world to us.

Although there won’t be fireworks this year, our Scout Group remains at the heart of the community, continuing to provide opportunities and activities for local young people.

💛 Thank you for your understanding – and we hope to be back with a bang in the future.
