Elton Bonfire and Fireworks 2019 – THANK YOU!

The weather may have certainly put a dampener on things yesterday (no pun intended), however we’re Scouts and we put a coat on and just get on with it. The show must go on as they say!!

We’d just like to say a massive THANK YOU to each and every one of you who battled the weather yesterday and came along to support us. It was such an honour to see so many people there. Extra thanks also goes out to fellow groups from across Mersey Weaver Scouts who came along to support us.

We’d also like to extend a special thanks to Standard/Black Cat Fireworks for providing us with the “firepower” behind each of our displays.

Special thanks also need to go to Elton Parish Council, Essar, CFF Fertilisers and Councillor Graham Heatley for they continued support and contributions into Elton’s BIGGEST annual event!

Also, an extra thank you to Elton Primary School for use of the School Field.

Finally – SAVE THE DATE, as next years display will be on Friday 6th November 2020. This will be extra special as we celebrate 10 years of our Bonfire and Fireworks display.

Elton Bonfire and Firework Spectacular 2018 – Thank You!

Another Bonfire and Firework Spectacular has been and gone – and what an event it was this year!

We estimate that we’ve pulled our biggest crowd ever this year as more people from both within the village and outside the village join us to see what all the fuss is about.

To everyone that came along to support our display either by coming along to watch, purchase from our stalls or giving a donation (however big or small), we’d just like to say a HUGE Thank You!

We would also like to express an extra special thanks to the following for their continued support of the years:

  • Elton Parish Council
  • Cheshire West and Chester Council (and Ward Councillor Stephen Smith)
  • Essar
  • Elton Primary School
  • Friends of Elton Primary School
  • Mitchell Brothers (Cheshire Oaks)
  • Elton SPAR
  • Encirc and Cheshire Waste
  • Black Cat Fireworks
  • Award Computing Ltd

This is currently Elton’s only annual community event! As a community group and registered charity, we invest a huge amount of time and money into staging this event – your continued support is crucial to the success of this event.

Finally, we must also remember to say a huge thank you to the team of volunteers here at 1st Ince and Elton Scout Group. Not are they supporting a weekly programme to each of the sections (that’s Beavers, Cubs and Scouts), they also give up their time for weekend activities and also find more time to stage great community events such as this. So a huge BRAVO goes out to them.

The ‘Elton Bonfire and Firework Spectacular’ returns for it’s 9th year in 2019 on Friday 1st November – save the date!!

Firework Spectacular 2017 – Thank You!

From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along and support our annual Bonfire and Firework Spectacular.

In addition, we’d like to express special thanks to the following:

Macmillan Coffee Evening – Thank You!!

We’d just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who turned up to support our Macmillan Coffee Evening at Elton Community Centre this evening.

Your support and generosity has helped us raise a whopping £317, all of which will be going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thanks to you, Macmillan can make even more of a difference for people facing cancer. Who knew a bit of cake could do so much good?

We’re launching our ‘Help Our Hut!’ campaign!

Today, we’re launching our most ambitious fundraising campaign – Help Our Hut!

Our Scout Hut is in a serious state of disrepair and is in urgent need of serious renovation to bring the building up to an acceptable level. Money raised from recent fundraisers has allowed us to get work started on the big renovation, however we don’t have enough to get all the work done in one go.

With the funds that we have raised so far, we can only pay the builders for work on a piece by piece basis, of which we have thankfully found a builder willing to help us.

We will soon be launching a ‘crowdfunding’ campaign in an effort to help us raise much needed founds for our hut.

If you would like to find out more information about our most ambitious fundraiser, please visit our dedicated ‘Help Our Hut!‘ campaign page.
