1st November 2019
Our flagship fundraiser is returning for it’s 9th year on Friday 1st November 2019!
Full details are available on our event website – http://www.1stinceandelton.org.uk/fireworks. Please keep checking our website and Social Media feeds for the latest news and updates.
Please support Elton’s only annual community event! As a group we invest a huge amount of time and money into staging this event, which has grown in both reputation and popularity over recent years – your support is crucial to the continued success of this event.
Just a quick reminder to all our Young People about the competition we’re running to design a “Group Badge” to celebrate 70 years of Scouting in Ince and Elton.
Here’s a reminder of the rules:
- The competition is open to all three sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts)
- The design must cater for one of two sets of dimensions:
- The design must incorporate the year we were formed (1949). Try not to use “70 years” as we want to avoid the badge “ageing” quickly.
- The design must also be Scouting related or feature a landmark from the local area/community.
- Deadline for entries is Friday 13th September 2019.
After this date, a winning design will be chosen (logistics of choosing the winner to be confirmed) and converted into a digital format where it will be submitted for approval.
We’ve attached a couple of other “groups” badges to spark some inspiration if you need it.
12th July 2019
You’re invited to join us at our Summer BBQ as we celebrate our 70th year as 1st Ince and Elton Scout Group.
BBQ – All Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will receive a free of charge Jumbo Hot Dog. All other guests, Burgers and Hot Dogs will be on sale.
There will also be a bar for the Grown Ups!
The event is open to all parents and the wider community, and young members can also bring along a friends.
Try out the giant inflatable obstacle course and take part in some team games.
Badges and Awards for all sections will be presented from 9pm.
10th May 2019
Come along and join us for our Annual General Meeting which will be held at the HQ on Friday 10th May. Doors open at 18:30 for a 19:00 start.
The AGM is the perfect opportunity to see what we’ve been up to over the last 12 months and will include reports from section Leaders about the fun and adventure the young people have enjoyed over the past year, as well as details from the Executive Committee regarding the Group’s development, expenditure and finances and is also an open forum for yourselves to give your feedback to the Group.
We also hold the election of officers to the Group Executive Committee during the meeting. We’re always on the lookout for more volunteers to support a range of roles across the group, whether it’s supporting one of our sub-committees (fundraising or HQ) or the actual Executive Committee itself. We’re also looking for new adult volunteers to support our three sections. If you’re interested in getting involved, then our AGM is your chance to see the work involved and also offer your support.
28th April 2019
Details for the St George’s Day service.

Thornton-le-Moors w Ince & Elton
We’ll be joining in the festivities at Elton’s first ever Christmas Lights Switch-On.
We’re still firming up details of our participation, but we’ll be there regardless so please come along and support us and the new Christmas Lights Switch-on!
Another Bonfire and Firework Spectacular has been and gone – and what an event it was this year!
We estimate that we’ve pulled our biggest crowd ever this year as more people from both within the village and outside the village join us to see what all the fuss is about.
To everyone that came along to support our display either by coming along to watch, purchase from our stalls or giving a donation (however big or small), we’d just like to say a HUGE Thank You!
We would also like to express an extra special thanks to the following for their continued support of the years:
- Elton Parish Council
- Cheshire West and Chester Council (and Ward Councillor Stephen Smith)
- Elton Primary School
- Friends of Elton Primary School
- Mitchell Brothers (Cheshire Oaks)
- Elton SPAR
- Encirc and Cheshire Waste
- Black Cat Fireworks
- Award Computing Ltd
This is currently Elton’s only annual community event! As a community group and registered charity, we invest a huge amount of time and money into staging this event – your continued support is crucial to the success of this event.
Finally, we must also remember to say a huge thank you to the team of volunteers here at 1st Ince and Elton Scout Group. Not are they supporting a weekly programme to each of the sections (that’s Beavers, Cubs and Scouts), they also give up their time for weekend activities and also find more time to stage great community events such as this. So a huge BRAVO goes out to them.
The ‘Elton Bonfire and Firework Spectacular’ returns for it’s 9th year in 2019 on Friday 1st November – save the date!!
