The 1st Ince and Elton Scout Group Executive Committee have made the extremely difficult, but responsible decision to place our annual Bonfire and Firework Spectacular on a hiatus for 2020 due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.

Whilst we appreciate that the current easing of lockdown measures is heading in the right direction, it is still unknown at this time when social distancing measures and restrictions on mass gatherings will be completely lifted/relaxed to allow events like ours to take place.

The safety of everyone has to come first and it is likely that some form of social distancing will still be in place by November. Even if the current situation has been completely mitigated, there just would not be the time now to organise it when restrictions are still in place.

We know that this may come as a huge disappointment for many, but we hope you can understand and appreciate why this decision has been made. It certainly wasn’t an easy decision given that alongside our Annual Plant Sale (which we also had to cancel this year) this event acts as our biggest fundraiser for the group.

Although we’re now giving the display a rest for this year, we’re planning something bigger and better for what will be our 10th display on Friday 5th November 2021.
