County Scout Sunday

9th June 2019 @ 14:45 16:30

County Scout Sunday is an annual event which sees the Scouts of Cheshire parading through the streets of Chester, followed by a short service in the Cathedral.

It is always a spectacular day and this year we expect to make an even bigger impression as the WSJ contingent members from Cheshire form one group and follow the colour party at the front of the parade.

Alderley District will lead the main Parade this year and are responsible for the service.

The timetable is:

  • 14:45 – Districts assemble by MEETING POINT on CATHEDRAL GREEN (see map below).
  • 15:00 – The Parade will leave CATHEDRAL GREEN via ABBEY SQUARE ARCHWAY.
  • 15:30 – Upon arrival back at Cathedral, alternate Districts will enter at the direction of the Stewards via the first door (Great West Door) or the second door (South Door).  Service starts with the procession and presentation of the Colours.
  • 16:15 – Service concludes with the return of the Colours and the singing of the National Anthem. After the Service, the Parade will form up in St Werburgh Street for the return to CATHEDRAL GREEN where the parade will be dismissed.
  • 16:30 – We should be on our way home.
