SUMMARY:Mersey Weaver Trek
DESCRIPTION:Mersey Weaver Trek is an Annual expedition in July open to 10-12½ year olds from any Scout group in the District. Scouts walk approx 12km in teams of 4-6\, camp overnight and cook their own evening meal. Every one who takes part receive’s a special necker and a complimentary breakfast the following morning. Trek is a fantastic way to get an introductory feel of what’s involved in participating in an event like Cheshire Hike or just opportunity for our younger Scouts to experience the Great Outdoors!

DESCRIPTION:Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts (and their Parents) are invited to our Group Summer BBQ. It starts at 18:30 at the Scout HQ/Parish Field. There’s a number of activities on offer\, including the Mersey Weaver District Scouts Climbing Wall \nBurgers and Hot Dogs are available free of charge for members and their families – subject to ticket redemption (tickets will be handed out on arrival). \n\nCans of pop\, sweets and Candy Floss will also be on sale. \nFinally\, there is also a raffle with some very good prizes including £50 vouchers for ASICS Clothing and Footwear and an iPod Shuffle (courtesy of Apex Computing Services LTD) and more. \nThis is the last night that Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts will meet before we close for the Summer Holidays.

DESCRIPTION:As some of you will be aware\, at this time of year we hold a Night Hike for all troops within our district\, where Scouts navigate a short route in the dark in teams of between 6-10. Each team is made up of Scouts from within their own Troop and the routes are marshalled by leaders from across the district. \nThis years event will start from Lady Heyes Craft Centre in Frodsham and will end at 1st Norley Scout HQ; where there will be a warm drink and hot food for the Scouts to enjoy. \nFull details about this activity have gone out to Scout Parents via My.SCOUT.

SUMMARY:Remembrance Sunday 2016
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 13th November 2016\, it’s Remembrance Sunday\, the day we remember all those who gave their lives defending their Country and the way of life we enjoy. \nOur Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts will be parading from the Elton Community Centre to St James’ The Great Church in Ince\, where a Service of Remembrance will be held. Cheshire Police are once again controlling traffic along School Lane and Ince Lane to allow the procession to parade safely. \nWe will be meeting on the Community Centre Car Park\, for no later than 9:00am. Full uniform\, including Scout Activity Trousers (or School Trousers if you don’t have Scout Activity Trousers) and shoes to be worn please. Please bring a coat with you in case of inclement weather. \nThe Service of Remembrance should conclude at around 11:15 – however\, if possible\, we request that Scouts also attend a brief Open Air Service at the Cenotaph in Thornton-Le-Moors after the Service of Remembrance. We’ll confirm details about this on the day. \nWe also invite Members and Ex-Members of the Armed Forces to join the parade to the Church. \nPlease do your very best to attend – it would be nice to see another fantastic turnout from the Scout Group. \nIf you have any questions\, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a leader.

DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again\, where we celebrate the gift of harvest. This years Harvest Festival Service is being held at St James’ Church in Ince this Sunday 25th September. \nWe would really appreciate a great turnout for this short event. Attendance does count towards a number of the Challenge Badges that make up the Bronze (Beavers)\, Silver (Cubs) and Gold (Scouts) Awards. \nThe service will start at 10am and should be finished for approximately 11am. If we could meet outside the Church in Ince at 9.45am\, ready for the service to start at 10am. We also kindly request that young people bring along any non-perishable food gifts that will be collected and handed out to local charities.

SUMMARY:The Royal Cheshire County Show
DESCRIPTION:For more than 175 years\, the Cheshire show has been the premier summertime agricultural event in the North West of England. Earlier this year we reached an exciting milestone in our rich history when the honour of ‘Royal’ status was bestowed on the show by the Cabinet Office. The 2016 event sees the inauguration of the newly titled\, Royal Cheshire County Show and we are looking forward to providing a fun-packed\, memorable occasion for our visitors\, competitors and exhibitors alike. \nWith its roots firmly embedded in farming\, the 2016 show will\, again hold the many competition classes for cattle\, sheep\, pigs and dairy goats\, but will also include hundreds of classes for light and heavy horses\, show jumping\, rare breeds of livestock\, poultry\, pygmy goats\, pigeons\, cavies\, rabbits and dog show. \nThe 2016 show will also feature the Roberts Bakery Food Halls and Food Live Theatre\, The Sainsbury’s Agri Centre\, Inspired Villages Village Green\, Countryside Experience Area\, Creamline Main Ring\, and the Costain Rural Life Area which includes\, Cheshire WI\, NAFAS Flower Marquee\, Schools Out\, NFU Publicity and many\, many more. \nVolunteers from Cheshire Scouts will once again be supporting the show. If any Parents/Cubs/Scouts are available on Thursday evening from around 7pm\, we’d greatly appreciate any assistance with getting camp setup. \n\nDirections\n\nLeave the M56 at Junction 7 for Altrincham.\nAt the roundabout take the third exit onto the A56 (Dunham Road).\nAfter around 500 yards (0.3 miles)\, turn left onto Farm Walk.\nKeep following Farm Walk until the end of the track\, this should lead you into the Camp Site.
