SUMMARY:Royal Cheshire County Show 2018
DESCRIPTION:A number of our adult volunteers are supporting Cheshire Scouts at this year’s Royal Cheshire County Show on the 19th and 20th June. \nCheshire Scouts support the show in the form of a number of roles\, however the key role is ticket collection at the gates. Cheshire Scouts also run their own stand (which can be found by the Band Stand) showcasing the best of Scouting in Cheshire. The Mersey Weaver Climbing Wall will also be at the show\, located on the Scouts Stand – feeling adventurous\, give it a go!! \nThe show is a great day out and pulls around a staggering 100\,000 visitors over the two days. If you’re thinking of visiting the show this year\, swing by the Scouts stand and more if you see any of our volunteers – say hello!

SUMMARY:Cosford Airshow 2018
DESCRIPTION:Three years ago\, we took our troop to Southport Airshow – it proved to be largely successful trip and was popular with all of the Scouts. Between the leaders\, we’ve been thinking of doing it again for the last year or two when we take into account how successful it was the first time. \nSo – we’re going to do it again. But this time\, we’re going bigger and better by heading over to RAF Cosford (the home of the RAF Museum) to attend this year’s Cosford Airshow. This year\, it’s being held on Sunday 10th June. \nDue to how Cosford run their group bookings\, we’re limited to the capacity of the minibus – which is 12 Scouts. So we’re operating this trip on a first come – first served basis (sorry folks\, it’s very rare that we have to do this). \nWe’re still working out the costs for this trip (Fuel and Minibus Hire)\, hence why it’s currently showing as TBC – but we anticipate that it will be no more than £10 per Scout. It will be an all day event (exact timings of pick-up and drop-offs will be announced nearer the time). \nIf your child is interested in attending then please let us know by confirming via My.SCOUT – remember this is being operated on a first come\, first served basis.

SUMMARY:Mersey Weaver Trek
DESCRIPTION:Mersey Weaver Trek is an Annual expedition in July open to 10-12½ year olds from any Scout group in the District. Scouts walk approx 12km in teams of 4-6\, camp overnight and cook their own evening meal. Every one who takes part receive’s a special necker and a complimentary breakfast the following morning. Trek is a fantastic way to get an introductory feel of what’s involved in participating in an event like Cheshire Hike or just opportunity for our younger Scouts to experience the Great Outdoors!

DESCRIPTION:Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts (and their Parents) are invited to our Group Summer BBQ. It starts at 18:30 at the Scout HQ/Parish Field. There’s a number of activities on offer\, including the Mersey Weaver District Scouts Climbing Wall \nBurgers and Hot Dogs are available free of charge for members and their families – subject to ticket redemption (tickets will be handed out on arrival). \n\nCans of pop\, sweets and Candy Floss will also be on sale. \nFinally\, there is also a raffle with some very good prizes including £50 vouchers for ASICS Clothing and Footwear and an iPod Shuffle (courtesy of Apex Computing Services LTD) and more. \nThis is the last night that Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts will meet before we close for the Summer Holidays.

DESCRIPTION:We are planning a camp for our troop on the weekend of the 7th to 9th July at QCW. We will be cooking in patrols and have some exciting activities organised including Geocaching\, backwoods cooking and Fencing (weather permitting) along with a troop campfire\, wide games and lots more. \nWe will be camping in the new larger patrol tents which the scouts put up last week.
