SUMMARY:Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service
DESCRIPTION:This year marks 80 years since the start of the second World War. \n\n\n\nOnce again\, we will be parading from Elton Community Centre to St James Church in Ince\, followed by a service at St James Church. \n\n\n\nThe parade will be assembling at Elton Community Centre from 9am ready for departure at approximately 9:20am. Parents\, relatives and members of the public are invited to walk at the rear of the parade and any members of the Armed Forces are welcome to parade with the Scouts. \n\n\n\nThe service at St James Church starts at 10am and is usually finished between 11am and 11:30am – however\, there is no return parade.. \n\n\n\nPlease can we request that ALL Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts wear smart uniform  – aka School or Scout Activity Trousers/Skirt and Shoes (no leggings or trainers please). A poppy can also be worn if desired and there will be a collection during the service. \n\n\n\nWe would like to encourage a good turn out for the parade and service please\, especially with us once again receiving support from Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire Police to enforce road closures for the parade to take place. \n\n\n\nAlthough attendance to Church Services are entirely optional\, we do actively encourage attendance (regardless of faith) as attendance to religious services are a critical requirement of achieving a number of the “Challenge” badges which make up the Chief Scouts Awards. Group attendance also acts as a good way to build on our relationships within the local community. \n\n\n\nThe group will also be attending the laying of the wreath at the Cenotaph in Thornton-Le-Moors. If anyone can make it there\, it would be appreciated by the Church and the Group. There may also be a second wreath laying at the new memorial outside the Elton Community Centre (we’ll confirm this on the day).

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 29th September\, we will be attending the annual Harvest Festival service at St James’ Church\, Ince. DESCRIPTION:The idea of “Scout Scarf Day” on August 1 is that all active and former scouts are requested to wear their scout scarfs in public to make the “spirit of scouting” visible: once a scout – always a scout! SUMMARY:Royal Cheshire County Show 2019
DESCRIPTION:A number of our adult volunteers are supporting Cheshire Scouts at this years Royal Cheshire County Show on the 18th and 19th June. \n\n\n\nCheshire Scouts support the show in the form of a number of roles\, however the key role is ticket collection at the gates. \n\n\n\nCheshire Scouts also run their own stand (which can be found by the Band Stand) showcasing the best of Scouting in Cheshire. \n\n\n\nThe Mersey Weaver Climbing Wall will also be at the show\, located on the Scouts Stand – feeling adventurous\, give it a go!! \n\n\n\nThe show is a great day out and pulls around a staggering 100\,000 visitors over the two days. If you’re thinking of visiting the show this year\, swing by the Scouts stand and if you see any of our volunteers – say hello!

SUMMARY:County Scout Sunday
DESCRIPTION:County Scout Sunday is an annual event which sees the Scouts of Cheshire parading through the streets of Chester\, followed by a short service in the Cathedral. \n\n\n\nIt is always a spectacular day and this year we expect to make an even bigger impression as the WSJ contingent members from Cheshire form one group and follow the colour party at the front of the parade. \n\n\n\nAlderley District will lead the main Parade this year and are responsible for the service. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe timetable is: \n\n\n\n14:45 – Districts assemble by MEETING POINT on CATHEDRAL GREEN (see map below).15:00 – The Parade will leave CATHEDRAL GREEN via ABBEY SQUARE ARCHWAY.15:30 – Upon arrival back at Cathedral\, alternate Districts will enter at the direction of the Stewards via the first door (Great West Door) or the second door (South Door).  Service starts with the procession and presentation of the Colours.16:15 – Service concludes with the return of the Colours and the singing of the National Anthem. After the Service\, the Parade will form up in St Werburgh Street for the return to CATHEDRAL GREEN where the parade will be dismissed.16:30 – We should be on our way home.

DESCRIPTION:The event will be a fairly relaxed afternoon with an awards presentation\, Hog Roast\, Croquet and the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful campsite with Scouting friends. \n\n\n\nThe aim of the event is threefold\, to thank our volunteers with a social event\, to celebrate our local award recipients of 2018/19 and thank those who have made an incredible 25 years of the Hideaway possible. \n\n\n\nThe core event will run from 13:00 – 18:00. With the awards ceremony taking place at 14:00. \n\n\n\nThe Hideway\n\n\n\nThe Hideaway is a extremely well loved resource in the district. It has enabled 1000’s of young people to have indoor residential opportunities and we are extremely lucky to have it thanks to the work of some extremely hardworking volunteers. \n\n\n\nIf you would like to make either a one time or reoccurring donation to either QCW\, any of our other causes/projects or Mersey Weaver Scouts in general you can do that here. \n\n\n\nWho Can Attend?\n\n\n\nThe event is open to all award recipients\, leaders\, Managers\, Supporters in Mersey Weaver and select guests from out side the district. Due to the size of the campsite there will be a limit of ~150 on site. \n\n\n\nThere is an option below to make a donation towards the cost of the event as some people have asked if they could so\, however there is no obligation for anyone to do this. The suggested donation of £5 covers the cost of the food and a glass of Pimms but feel free to give as much or as little as you like. \n\n\n\nWhat To Wear/Bring\n\n\n\nIf you hold a uniformed role please wear your uniform and necker. Otherwise the event is smart-casual. \n\n\n\nParking\n\n\n\nThere is limited parking on site. Please wherever possible consider car sharing.

DESCRIPTION:Come along and join us for our Annual General Meeting which will be held at the HQ on Friday 10th May. Doors open at 18:30 for a 19:00 start. \n\n\n\nThe AGM is the perfect opportunity to see what we’ve been up to over the last 12 months and will include reports from section Leaders about the fun and adventure the young people have enjoyed over the past year\, as well as details from the Executive Committee regarding the Group’s development\, expenditure and finances and is also an open forum for yourselves to give your feedback to the Group. \n\n\n\nWe also hold the election of officers to the Group Executive Committee during the meeting. We’re always on the lookout for more volunteers to support a range of roles across the group\, whether it’s supporting one of our sub-committees (fundraising or HQ) or the actual Executive Committee itself. We’re also looking for new adult volunteers to support our three sections. If you’re interested in getting involved\, then our AGM is your chance to see the work involved and also offer your support.

DESCRIPTION:This year marks 100 years since the end of the first World War. \nOnce again\, we will be parading from Elton Community Centre to St James Church in Ince\, followed by a service at St James Church. \nThe parade will be assembling at Elton Community Centre from 9am ready for departure at approximately 9:20am. To mark 100 years since the end of the First World War\, it would be great if we could get at least 100 people making up this years parade. Parents\, relatives and members of the public are invited to parade behind the Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts if they wish. \nThe service at St James Church starts at 10am and is usually finished between 11am and 11:30am – however\, there is no return parade.. \nPlease can we request that ALL Beavers\, Cubs and Scouts wear smart uniform for this event – aka School or Scout Activity Trousers/Skirt and Shoes (no leggings or trainers please). \nWe would like to encourage a good turn out for the parade and service please\, especially with us once again receiving support from Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire Police to enforce road closures for the parade to take place. \nTemporary Traffic Regulation
